The Development and Alumni Relations Office exists to engage with alumni and friends of BNC to develop a mutually beneficial alumni community. Any personal information you choose to give us will be held securely on our  alumni database and used to promote alumni networks, events and fund-raising initiatives. Supplying us with your personal information will be taken as “conduct clearly indicating  acceptance of the proposed processing”.  All personal information is treated confidentially and with respect for the benefit of the College and its members in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

If you no longer wish to be contacted by Brasenose or wish to alter the way your data is held and used, please email and we will endeavour to respond to all requests in a timely manner.

One-off SMS donations

The King’s Hall and College of Brasenose in Oxford (hereinafter referred to as ‘Brasenose’ or ‘the College’) has employed the services of Buffalo Fundraising Consultants Ltd, 2B, Lewins Mead, Avon, Bristol BS1 2NT (hereinafter ‘Buffalo’) to enable its supporters to make philanthropic gifts via SMS/text message. The College will receive 100% of all donations received via this method.

To donate £10 to Brasenose, just text ‘BNC’ followed by your full name and matriculation year to 70660. (e.g. ‘BNC John Smith 1992’)

Terms and conditions

Your donation will be charged on your phone bill at £10 plus one message at your standard network rate.

The platform will no longer be able to receive donations after 22 May 2018.

Any message sent after the closing date shown above will not be accepted. You won’t be charged the donation amount but you may still be charged at your standard network message rate.

If you use the incorrect keyword in your message, you may still be charged your standard network message charge. You won't be charged the donation amount.

The text donation service is only available for UK mobile phone numbers. You cannot donate from the Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands or Isle of Man.

If you donate using this service from a UK mobile abroad, you may incur additional network charges.

You must obtain the bill payer’s permission.

You must be 16 years old or above to make a donation.

The College does not accept any responsibility for any problem with any telephone, network or otherwise which may result in any message being delayed or not properly received.

There is no limit on the number of times you may make a text donation to Brasenose.

Your donation may be eligible for Gift Aid. We will contact you by email or post if this is the case with a link to our Gift Aid declaration.


If you make a donation via SMS, you will receive a reply message with an option to opt-out of further text messaging from Brasenose College. This message is sent automatically but may take up to 24 hours to arrive. Please call +44 (0)1865 287273 if you have not received your reply within this timeframe so that it can be investigated.

By giving via SMS message, you agree that we may contact you in the future by SMS, telephone call, direct mail or email to discuss the College’s fundraising aims.
